VIVO VIVO HERE I COME! (CAME!)

Sorry boys and girls! Haven't been free to update my dying blog lately. =X

Alright, I shall update a little, but due to time constraint, I'm only able to post a short one. But that's better than not updating at all, right? =X

Okay, and so the day started with me sleeping at 4:30am after a long guitar practice. But trust me, I haven't been practising as much as before.

And a couple of hours after I returned to reality from my lalaland trip, I went to da pao and had lunch with Shermaine at her place before we left for VivoCity. It was raining but it didn't stop us, thanks to Shermaine's POKEMON umbrella. =X Muahahaha, and so, I FINALLY STEPPED INTO VIVOCITY!!! Had never been there before, can you believe it? =X

Okay, this is going a bit too slow. Just gonna summarise it.

Basically, we covered nearly every corner of Vivocity and its neighbouring Harbourfront Shopping Centre before heading off to AMK Hub. Hmm... And I realised that I had never been there before as well...

Guess we didn't have much luck in getting a prom dress for Shermaine, though she looked good in a couple of them. =) But at least, the dinner was pretty delicious in my opinion. =p And she's gotten a nice blusher. =)

And so after dinner, we decided to head back home. But halfway back home, I decided to explore the area around ESSO petrol kiok near Bukit Panjang LRT station to look for some satay stalls (as recommended by one of my customers lately). Haha, after some unnecessary detours, we finally found a satay stall. And so I da pao some satays and we ate them at her place with her parents. Yummy! =P

Haha, and I must admit that I'm getting older and older lol. Legs are feeling really tired and sore right now, after walking the entire day. And I'm pretty sure that I wobbled my way back home lol. =S But yup, the day's fun nevertheless. =)

Happy Birthday To Shermaine!

It was quite a busy yet enjoyable day for me yesterday. Woke up early in the morning to visit the dentist before heading off to Shermaine's place to decorate her living room a little because we were going to celebrate her 15.997262...th birthday at night (should be her 16th birthday, but since we're celebrating 1 day in advance... =X).

And so when I reached her place, I realised that maybe a little decoration wasn't enough at all... So I decided to give her a surprise with some last minute 'EXTRA effort' decorations instead. =D Should have planned the decoration in advance though! =( But I guess everything still turned out pretty decent with me thinking of what to do next as I was inflating the balloons. Haha, it was quite tiring blowing up 70 balloons in all (exploding 4 in process). Still, it was worthed it. =)

So yup, I went home after the decorating the place a little before returning to Shermaine's place for a sumptuous dinner prepared by her mom. Yummy Curry Chicken!!! I wish I could have it for lunch everyday. =þ

And the simple celebration ended soon after we finished our own shares of the birthday cakes. Yeah, she actually got TWO birthday cakes instead of one, because her mom and my mom each bought one for her... And I didn't even have a birthday cake for myself for a LONG time... =( Haha, I'm jealous. =X

Okay okay, wait wait. I know I know... Don't be so impatient mah. Haha, alright, these are some of the photos taken. =)

Back To Blogging

Yo dudes, I'm BACK to blogging. Lol. Sorry for not updating my blog for a while. =)

Alright, let's start with my mom's condition. She's been doing comparably well ever since she's been discharged from hospital. No more vertigo. =) And she can HEAR with her left ear now though it isn't hearing as well as her right ear. Mild tinnitus still persists I guess. =( But yup, thank God for her recovery and that there isn't any serious underlying problem!

Okay, next, let's talk about my outing with Shermaine last Thursday. Brought her to Toa Payoh for surprise Lobsters (more like Baby Lobsters...) set meal lunch with Fish Fillet and Tenderloin, because she never tasted lobster before. =) Though the size of the lobsters was a little disappointing, I'm glad that we both enjoyed our lunch in an ambient HDB-based restaurant. Hee... =D

After lunch, we went to Katong area and walked to quite a number of places. The condo that Zuoxin used to stay was demolished and new buildings are now in the process of being erected. The old gaming arcade in Katong Mall is not longer there; the space is now occupied by Cold Storage. There's a new church in the vicinity too. Haha, even the bushes has grown so much taller and denser. (Yes, I'm referring to those bushes across the fence that is near that familiar bus stop outside Aaron's old house in Sea Avenue.) Indeed, much has changed during the past few years.

And so I became a 'tour guide' for Shermaine as we walked from place to place around the neighbourhood which I've spent my secondary school days in. It brought back much fond memories. Really miss those days playing 'Blind Cat' and 'Wrestling' with Aaron and Abner in their room in the old house. And how we used to meet up with Zuoxin, Colin and Li'en for occassional overnight 'SUPPLY' (a modified tag-team-chess game) and for our usual Saturday LAN gaming. We used to play a bit of table tennis and basketball back then too. It was so fun.

Alright, enough of reminicising. Next, I led Shermaine to East Coast Park secretly. Haha, that's because she's never been there before mah. ^^ And we eventually decided to ride a tandem (those 2-seated bicycle) because she refused to let me teach her how to ride a normal bicycle. And I'm glad that (ahem) I'm such a nice rider because I rode steadily and safely. Not nice to let such a nice girl behind me to fall with me if I ride recklessly, right? =)

Hmm... And we settled for dinner in Burger King after an hour of cycling. Yummy! (drooling...)

All in all, I'm just contented that both of us enjoyed the outing and had fun together. =)

Alright, I gonna LOOK for some food now. Stupid of me to mention 'Burger King' just now and suddenly I feel a bit hungry... Oh man, but I'm GROWING FATTER!!! *SIGH! T.T

Please Get Well Soon

I didn't have the mood to work today. But I still dragged my feet to work today. After all, I've already took 2 days off in advance to look after my mom and she is, now at least, able to move around the house by herself.

I guess she's getting better in a way. But really, it's hard to say if she's really gotten better or not. She doesn't feel nauseous anymore, doesn't feel as dizzy as before. But why can't her left ear hear still? I asked the specialist and he said that if she doesn't regain her hearing on her left ear within one week, she most probably won't get it back anymore.

And the thought of the worst just made me sad. I can't help worrying even though I know worrying doesn't help. And I feel so helpless. I just hope she'll recover completely and be able to listen with both ears when I play guitar for her again.

Thinking Of Mom

Woke up realising that my spectacles and devotional book were on the floor. I guess I was simply too tired last night and I fell asleep before I could do my quiet time. So yup, the moral of the story is, never do quiet time on the bed, especially when you know that you're really exhausted. Haha. =/

Hmm... I felt that something was really weird today when I woke up. Yup, my mom's still lying in bed. Not that it's weird for a sick person to be resting in bed... But yah, at first thought when I woke up today, if you were to ask me where my mom is and I would say that she's probably up and awake cleaning the house and preparing breakfast and I would always think that I'm awoken by the aroma of whatever she's cooking.

Guess I'm just so used to her doing so many things for the family. Even in my dream last night, she was washing my clothes... =( And maybe that's why I felt that things seemed so different the moment I woke up today - thinking that my mom was awake as usual doing some housework and then realising that oh ya, she's unwell.

"天下的妈妈都是一样的." That's what Shermaine said last night when I told her mom that her soup tasted like my mom's cooking. I never thought that the statement would just come back to me again this morning when I was thinking about how my mom raised the the four of us up single-handedly. If every mother in the world are the same, then they all ought to be rewarded equally too!

But I guess that what the statement really meant is that every mother loves her children. There's no difference in how much motherly love a rich tai tai or a poor beggar would give to her children. They all love their children the same! Just that some poor mothers have to struggle more than the wealthier ones to provide for their children. And some unfortunate mothers don't get what they deserve at the end of the day for their unfailing love.

And I just hope that my mom wouldn't be an unfortunate one. I hope that she'll get well soon and enjoy a long and blessed life.

Back on the Path Of Recovery

Hmm... I guess my throat's feeling better now. But yeah, I know myself too well. It always starts with a sore throat. Then cough, flu, blocked nose and phelgms will join in the fun and there - an upper respiratory tract infection. And when that comes, I'll get asthmatic occassionally.

And in fact, I'm feeling a little breathless right now. But I forgot when I've put my inhaler. Gonna search for it now.

Thanks for praying for me and do continue to keep me in prayer! Thanks everyone. =)

I'll get well soon I'm sure. =)

No Fever = Able To Work =/

My throat is feeling uncomfortable still. But I guess I'll still be working later since I am not having a fever right now. Hmm... Now the problem is... My work requires me to open my mouth to talk. =(

Sigh, why do I get sore throat so easily no matter what I do?

I guess sometimes, somethings are just inevitable. You can only try your best and believe that things could have turned out worse if you didn't.

Alright, I shall pity myself no longer.

Get well soon Chris!!
